Observation 25207: Gymnopilus P. Karst.
When: 2009-05-27
No herbarium specimen

Notes: These images are in addition to and taken a day later than 22697
I am not sure if this specimen is a Cortinarius or not. There were several different features that I noticed between this fungi and the original (22697)
(a) The fungi was attached to a dead decaying section of a small log.
(b) The fungi was slightly darker and larger in the mantle measurement.(20-25mm)
(d) The stipe was not hollow, was firm and fibrous, & there was no distinctive odour noticed. (Noah may be able to assist.)
The specimen was found close to where the originals were located & the substrate was similar, except the originals were growing in the sandy loam and these were growing on timber?.
The image (56684) (bisection) shows the mantle make up and the moist dense section
that can likely help in an identification. (no spore count.)
