The image is slightly washed out do to the time of day however you can still see the green hue this shelf type fungi exhibits. If you look closely you can also see a small violet mushroom sharing the same stump. The stump appears to have some small shoots coming up from the base. Most of the trees in this forest are Oaks and Sasafras trees. There is a considerable amount of moss growing at the foot of almost all the larger trees. The fungi is growing on the north side of the tree stump. The stump apears to have been there aging for quite some time.
