Observation 25468: Russula Pers.

When: 2009-09-17

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Zone 11 (the Mile), terrestrial. Lactarioid form but no latex; nothing came out when I damaged the gills and broke a piece off the edge of the cap. The watery droplets are from the morning’s fog.

Bigger than my fist but I saw much huger russulas on the Mile that day.
