found grwoing under mixed woods of Hickory Oak and Eastern Hemlock. This was growing solitary unussual to see it all by its self. I have tentatively identified it as C caperatus the gypsy mushroom once called Rozites caperatus. Spore print rusty brown.

has a more membranous, not cobwebby veil, and a wrinkled cap.
