Notes: I’ve been finding this fungus frwequently over the past two weeks, but always much smaller than this specimen. The largest mushroom in these photos had a cap that was about 4 in. wide. Before this I hadn’t found an example with a cap wider than 1 in. It was found growing on a sugar maple.
