Observation 26203: Tylopilus violatinctus T.J. Baroni & Both
When: 2009-09-20
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I’m basing my id primarily on the pink spores that match the reference(North American Boletes B-R-B)for size. They were subfusiform and about 9-10 X 3-4 microns. The specimens are fairly mature so I can assume that they could have had deeper purple tints earlier. The stem had white mycelium at the base and no obvious reticulation. The pores showed some light brown bruising.

and I can’t remember. Must have been getting too late in the evening and the chigger bites were starting to bother me.
Did you taste it?
