found popping up under leaf humus under chestnut tree
heavy, solid, dense feel
multi-globular tuberous body
smooth dry surface
cream – beige surface, with small light yellowish areas and violet-purple areas
short tapered shape at base
upon touch with water and light wiping surface turned dark brown-black
cross section: multi-faceted shapes with at center cream then yellowish then purplish-brown towards outside of shapes, in between facets purplish-brown, smaller shapes in center with larger shapes towards outside
smell: very intense delicious fresh young field mushroom fragrance with deeper earthy and very light citrussy notes; short tapered base smells horse pee-ish
size: across: 10 cm (4") x 7 cm (± 3"), height: 10 cm (4")
weight: 196 gram (6.9 ounces)
