CAP: 2.5-3.5 inches wide, with overlapping scales, splitting into rays, red and pinks, striate edge. GILLS: Bladlike, adnexed or adnate, flesh-colored (rose-buff), with white edge. STIPE: 4 inches, slightly enlarged at the base, covered with rose-colored scales becoming lighter to nearly white near cap attachment; possible annulus ring. Like a small Armillaria except for those white edges on the gills.
