Observation 26237: Dacrymyces stillatus Nees

When: 2009-10-04

Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

This tiny Dacrymyces was sitting quite nicely on a log. What the photo doesn’t show (rats!) is the nice tiny stipe attached to the side: nearly concolorous with the cap and transluscent: a tiny wonder. Total width of this solitary specimen was perhaps 3-4mm. Note the hemlock needles on the side for scale. Had never heard of this species before, but because of the minute size found it easily in Arora.
