Observation 26576: Amanita muscaria group

When: 2009-10-12

Collection location: Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave in NE PA

Specimen available

Growing on a lawn by spruce (Blue Spruce, I think) along with a few typical A. amerimuscaria. This specimen may also be amerimuscaria; but the basal bulb is rather narrow, the concentric basal volval ringa are missing, the warts are rather yellow, and the partial veil appears to be somewhat fibrous. So I’m wondering if this is just an atypical amerimuscaria… or?
