Notes: Growing on fruit bodies of Hygrophorus russula. Looks like an early stage; gills not yet completely obliterated.

Could be Hypomyces chrysospermum

which forms a white cocoon first, usually on Boletaceae, then later turns golden when mature and producing spores. I think there’s even a name for this particular stage in development, but am temporarily drawing a blank.
