Gliophorus in NZ are an evil group particularly the G. versicolor, G. lilacipes and G. lilacinoides group. Fortunately Michael has given us a good photo of the lamellae from this we can see there is no glutinous edge to the gills (No cystidia) and the gills are subdecurent there for the species is G. versicolor.

You have to almost disregard colour when it come to these 3 as they can very so much from one location to the next. To the point that you can if familiar with them tell were they were collected from.

The observation you linked to I don’t think is G. lilacipes, if anything this one is that species and the other one is an undescribed species.

That species has lilac-blue or pale green-blue lamellae with a gelatinised grey thread at the margin, this species consistently shows white lamellae with no gelatinised thread, the species is very variable so it may very well be G. lilacipes, E. Horaks key is not easy to decipher!
