Observation 27504: Psilocybe allenii Borov., Rockefeller & P.G. Werner

growing out of what I think is a Douglas-fir pine cone. These Psilocybe were growing in very close proximity of a cyanescens patch. If not azurescens, I would believe it is a “cyanofriscosa”

This specimen is without a doubt Psilcybe allenii and not Hypholoma capnoides

Are you sure it’s even a Psilocybe???

It looks an awful lot like Hypholoma capnoides from these pictures, but then the focus isn’t sharp and the colors may be somewhat washed out. Was it bluing at all? In younger specimens, was the cap color a deep brown or more of a dull yellow?

I think it’s Psilocybe “cyanofriscosa”. Very interesting that they grow on a cone. Thanks for sharing!
