Observation 2767: Lycoperdon perlatum Pers.

When: 2007-03-07

Collection location: Howarth Park, Santa Rosa, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Debbie Drechsler (debdrex)

No specimen available

From looking at Arora I think these are L. pyriforme. They were terrestrial in a localized area that could’ve indicated buried wood. Found the rhizomorphs (roots) that Arora mentions. Spines were very small. Okay, so I got this one really wrong! Lycoperdon perlatum it is.
