Who: Grant (glivings)
Saw this giant puffball and had no idea what it was. Went through the DM key from the beginning and saw Aurora’s comments about the Giant Puffball in our area “Any large puffball is a giant puffball, and any giant puffball is a giant meal” and so I figured it was something in the Giant Puffball group. Went on this site and found other pictures of calvatia pachyderma, found at a similar location a few days before and determined it to be calvatia pachyderma.
Big, white and fleshy on the inside, no sterile base, but hard outer shell (sporecase), smells good at first, but becomes overwhelming, outer skin with scales (aerolate?) rubes off. Delicious in a 3 cheese lasagna.
