Observation 27775: Mixed collection
When: 2009-11-04
Who: Wendy 10
No herbarium specimen

Notes: The shelf mushroom is soft like sulfer shelf, not woody like a conk.

The second mushroom was at the base of a tree, not sure if it came from wood or ground. The stem broke in picking it to photograph it. It was a sturdy stem about 1.5 cm diameter.

Habitat for both is redwood/Douglas fir/tanoak.

This is the underside of the mushroom I just posted, not sure why it didn’t post with the top view. Note white pores.

Top yellow shelf is a Phellinus

Bottom fungus looks like it might be Jahnoporus hirtus.
