Thank you Twizzler. You said “inies and outies”. I was thinking the same thing when I found these.

The microscopic features of this collection of umbilicate inies are really close to those of the pointy G. autumnalis collected across the lake in the same park on the same day.

There were only a few of these on each gill edge, but boy did they stand out. This is the prettiest thing I’ve seen under the scope. It looks like they are wearing jewels!

the technical term for this is “umbilicate”.

Seems G. autumnalis fruit-bodies can be innies or outies, depending.

inverted umbo

This cluster of G. autumnalis have inverted umbos. Compare to pointy capped specimens from the same park shown here:
