i was wondering whether it was viscid or sticky.

i suppose they do look dry in the photos.

The largest cap was about 2 inches in diameter. The photos show stipe texture better than I can remember it.

H. flavescens is described with a stipe up to 2cm according to Kuo. how robust where these?

did you note the texture of the stipe?
