Observation 28009: Boletus L.
When: 2009-11-09
No herbarium specimen

Notes: A bit on the old side. Fruiting under black oak, oregon white oak, bay, madrone. Solitary. Pileus and stipe both bruised dark blue with little provocation. Cap is 9.5cm across, stipe at apex is 3.2cm. The reddish scales or fibrils on the stipe diminished my confidence that this might be B. appendiculatus so I’m not sure what to call it.
