Notes: Found under Tan Oak and D. fir. Small fragile veil, cup like volva around enlarged base.

missed that gray annulus. I think that your ID guess is spot-on…the rest of the features fit nicely.

Looks well past its prime to me…

It apparently had a gray annulus and a robust bulb. Could it be something like A. porphyria?

and aaaagggghhhhh! you didn’t save it. at the very least it would’ve been interesting to see what section it ended up in…Amanita? Phalloides? Doesn’t look familiar to me…
