Observation 28694: Lepista nuda (Bull.) Cooke

When: 2009-11-24

Collection location: Georgia, USA [Click for map]

Who: AmatoxinApocalypse (AmatoxinApocalypse)

Specimen available

The herbarium specimens are already in my tummy.

But anyways it has not been cold enough here to cause large flushes of blewits yet, every other year they always fruit once it gets really cold, there have been a few blewits here and there but its been fairly warm out.

Once things start to freeze at night the blewits explode, enoki are already starting to show themselves so thats a good sign.

If someone could please provide me with some reading about the whole Clitocybe/Lepista thing that would be great, thank you.
