I don’t know why but the image I added showing the host was missing from the observation but could be seen as the thumbnail on the species list for this fungus?

The previous synonym is Cordyceps sinclairii, it is fruiting from a Cicada nymph.

What a curious fungus.

what is it related to? Is this whole thing the fruiting body or has some other plant been taken over?
