Species Lists

3% KOH negative. The lines were caused by the tip of the eye dropper bruising the tissue.
Yellow stains in the bottom half of the stipe appeared in about 10 minutes.
Reddish stains from 10% NH4OH. The stains are darkest where the tip of the eye dropper scratched the tissue.
The left side shows fresh tracks from the eye dropper before they turn red.
All were made with 10% NH4OH.
Two spots on the cap margin at the top of the photo:
1. Large greenish spot on left is 10% NH4OH.
2. Smaller brownish spot on right is 3% KOH three days old.
The reddish spots in the center of the cap are believed to be bruises from pushing up through the dirt.
Close up of the applied chemicals.
