I have collected this sturdy form early in my collecting career in the Oakland Hills, on January 14, 2006. Never seen it since, but have looked for it many times…D.
i have found the orange and yellow ones way up in Northern Canada (BC)i didn’t know they were supposed to be brown …….
You got the glutinous veil on these, you almost never see that. These are the classical colors of the described species here, not like the funny orange and sometimes orange-red guys that you see up around Mendocino.
