No I did not dig it up.I was in the park and left it for others. I appreciate the info and link.Does the red staining near the cap on the voval patch remnant have significance.

this could also be Amanita constricta; both can show reddish-orange staining on the veil. A. constricta will often stain gray on the inner volval sac.
