Recognized by sight: a old one with all the spores washed out

Recognized by sight: Both Astraeus and Scleroderma can have eroded gleba (spores masses) but leave their exoperidium behind. The photo doesn’t show much of the base of the stipe (or basal attachment). The base should prove which species this is. In my area, the exoperidium of Scleroderma is often parasitized and degrades quickly. Astraeus exoperidium, OTOH, often remains, barren, for a month or two afterward.
