Observation 29794: Armillaria (Fr.) Staude

When: 2009-12-07

Collection location: Hayes Valley, San Francisco, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Micah Courteau (waynegrompsky)

Specimen available

Absolutely Peculiar find. I found this mushroom unnaturally dangling from a fence to a parking lot on the side of the street. Their was rosemary wrapped through the chain link fence above the mushrooms reminiscent of mistletoe.
Looks like blue bruising or perhaps lavender/red/violet hue on the stems. Not sure if the color on the stem is due to a spore print or chemical indications. Would love help on this one. No spore print available found when partially dried. Hopes the pics are enough. Thanks.
