Notes: A lovely conk, this Red Belt was seen near Yellowstone National Park. Its creamy white spore producing
surface and rusty zonation on the pileus are a dead giveaway of F. pinicola, and its other features key out in Mushrooms Demystified.
Also included is a microscopic section of the tubes showing basidia and long, intertwining cystidia extending within the tube interior.
