Observation 3006: Boletus L.
When: 2007-02-04
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This mushroom was found growing out of a bank, under madrone and huckleberry, along the upper trail of Huckleberry preserve. It had a bright, brownish-red viscid cap, and large, bright, irregularly shaped yellow-green pores. The spore drop illuminated the subtle reticulation at the top of the stipe.

Misidentified at the time as flaviporus.

Name confirmed through second collection, verified through Bessett’s North American Boletes, page 90-91.
