Not Hebeloma

Can’t be Hebeloma with pleurocystidia, Hebeloma doesn’t have pleurocystidia. The spores weren’t quite right for Hebeloma either. The cap surface doesn’t appear to have hyphae in a gelatin matrix, just a cutis of fibrous hyphae. These look like Inocybe. I believe the only off-white Inocybe in California is just I. geophylla.

It had a pretty faint spermatic odor. Nothing really outstanding.

Cap not viscid

Yeah Doug, I should have done the detail work with the microscope, but I just ran out of time.
Anyhow lots of pleurocystidia, encrusted. Cap is fibrillose, not viscid. No particular odor.

Cap viscid?

Did you check if the cap was viscid here? And you need to look at the cystidia, what do the cystidia look like here? Were there pleurocystidia?

Was there any odor to the mushroom?
