Observation 30753: Physcia aipolia (Ehrh. ex Humb.) Fürnr.
When: 2009-12-21
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found growing on maple came from 30 feet up, Fell on my head. Not mush fungi growing any more after the blizzard but the lichens seem to thrive in the freezing cold so ill be showing the different lichens I find in my travels for a while.

Thanks for the ID I’m not to knowledgeable about the ID of Lichen. I will be posting other pics in the future since lichens seem to like the snow. Is this a common species? I found it interesting that it was so high up in a tree.
