gill attachment and overall look reminded me of Camarophyllus sp, or Hygrophorous sp. growing under tanoak by the TONS, bright orange/yellow when young like these.

Yea the id is right. This is a common spring mushroom, you never find very many at once though. A real good edible with a slightly sweet taste.

with the amount of thrips on them, your probably right with the ID.
