Observation 31619: Rhizopogon villosulus Zeller
When: 2010-01-05
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: I believe these were growing next to a Doug fir although Live Oak were also nearby. they were semi to mostly buried near the surface of the soil.
Did not detect any strong odor.
The spores looked to be in the range of about 6.5 X 3.0 microns but were quite variable in size.
I’m picking R. villosulus because of the rather darkish brown coloring and the olive brown gleba which was a little more noticeable than the photos show.
