Locality: 29°16’0.54"N, 103°14’57.21"W, el. 1465-1870 m
Substrate and habitat: on bark in pine-oak woodland at the bottom of a deep canyon on the east side of the Chisos Mountains. The specimen was hydrated by a passing photographer.
Morphology: View the uppermost thallus at the highest resolution to see that a number of apothecial margins bear “minute, rhizine-like fibrils below” (Bruce Ryan notes on Candelaria fibrosa).
