Observation 31727: Boletellus chrysenteroides (Snell) Snell

Notes: 7/28/09 Cap 7 cm in width round with small cracks on top, chocolate brown. cap flat with slight depression. Pore surface yellow with 1 mm angular pores staining blue when bruised. Stalk 5 cm x 2 cm equal in length fibrous light tan slightly reddish with minute hairs at the base. stalk staining blue then over time red. spore print dark brown flesh tan taste mild no odor.
Found solitary on well decomposed Red oak Wood. in a very shady area of Oak hickory
