Observation 32018: Deconica (W.G. Sm.) P. Karst.

The only thing I am sure of is that these are DeconicaD. physaloides seems like a good fit, though I noticed that the name is synonymous with D. montana according to IF… Though D. montana prefers mossy substrate, while D. physaloides seems to prefer only wood.

Yeah, I went through the same back and forth with obs. 6705. And I’ve seen these guys up in Jackson forest a few more times now. Never with moss, mostly with grass and small woody debris. I would say they are not P. montana also.

Also I see you have embraced the Deconica name. This is now “official” I guess…
