Observation 32241: Gymnopilus luteofolius (Peck) Singer
When: 2010-01-19
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: SAW THESE AND HAD TO HAVE THEM,
PICKED YOUNG, KINDA GREEDY I KNOWBUT I HAD TO GET THEM B4 SOME ONE ELSE DID.
AQUIRED YESTERDAY ON WOOD CHIP PILE, BLUE SPOTS OR BRUISES ON ALL CAPS.
IT HAS BEEN MY OBSERVATION THAT THIS BLUING OCCOURS IN NATURE FROM ELEMENTS AND WHAT EVER ELSE MIGHT BE HAPPENING WHILE NO ONE IS LOOKING, MORE SO, OR NOT AT ALL DURING HANDLEING.
I HOPE AS IS MY EXPIERIANCE W/CYANSTHE YOUNGER THE BETTER.

With the pinkish/purplish colors to the cap, I think you mean a different Gymnopilus here.

Plus, you check use more light and hold the camera still when taking photos to give the auto-focus a chance to work. You can check the photos when taking them with a preview on the screen, and take more until you get one in focus.
