Notes: Thanks, Nathan. I hadn’t considered C. crocophyllus until you mentioned it. Found on a log where C. mollis fruited earlier in the season(see Observation #2880). Spore print rusty brown.

Did you consider Crepidotus crocophyllus?

Crepidotus mollis is typically not that brown. C crocophyllus has orange gills and is discussed in Mushrooms Demystified.
