A strange glow from the cap, I think the camera did it when I had to set it to overexpose the picture. It was rather dark at that spot, and I don’t like to use flashlight if I don’t have to..
These are dried out specimen and almost completely white. At a young and fresh stage the slime can be rather dark; brownish to pale vinaceous.
I don’t have any picture of young ones myself, but this shows some of the variation:
