about half a millimeter each, growing in crowds, can easily be mistaken for dirt, but you didn’t get rid of them all.

Bruising red

I’m not positive, but I think the red color is a bruising reaction. The specimen was dirty and I tried to clean it for the photo. It was saved by one of the college instructors so we might hear more about it later.
