I put this under the scope expecting for it to look really cool, but I was disappointed and didn’t really see much. The micrographs accurately represent what I saw.

Are you sure its an imperfect fungus?

There’s not a lot of details in the micro-pictures, and I can’t tell one way or the other whether those are conidia or not, and that some sort of sporocarp or sporangium is entirely absent.

Where is the ascomycete?

This looks like an imperfect (Deuteromycete) on a basidiomycete (the coral).
