This is several days of growth,at first it was in the soil under this mat.I thought it had spread to the mat and grown but after a couple of days I realized it had simply left the soil and migrated to the mat.

One day later the myxomycetes has migrated back into the soil of the worm bin after eating everthing it wanted off the mat.

myoxomycetes are protista

If I understand the literiture: myoxomycetes is no longer considered a fungi but protista, more closly related to ameoba and cyanobacteria(formerly known as blue-green algea.
