I was even dash-drying it in the desert, to take it home and scope the differences (and similarities) with our Northern material. But it was getting a bit old and rotten (and smelly), so I stuck it on the front window while we photographed wildflowers. Forgot it was there, until the stipe went flying by my window as we drove along. Oooops. Just as well, it was stinking up the car.

Would LOVE more velosa material that got dried at an earlier, fresher stage…as long as the fruit body was already producing spores.

WE really enjoyed hunting the southlands…you have an amazing season ahead of you! Get out there and document it!!!

eh
