Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: On the upper trunk of a recently fallen red maple.

Note that the apothecia are not truly sorediate, even though they look like it. I guess that is just medulla gone wild, because it is just cottony hyphae in a mass, with no algae at all (soredia are both fungal hyphae and algae).
