Observation 3507: Hymenoscyphus repandus (W. Phillips) Dennis
When: 2007-06-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: An asci id’ed by – me! Using microscopic details, of course, there isn’t enough to this little asci to get anything but microscopic details. The main detail is spore shape, which they have these long thin cylindrical spores. The cups here are on these small thin stipes, which also seperates it from other tiny little colorless grey cup fungus.

This along with A. lobata (3498), D. virgineus (3501), and another tiny grey cup fungus that I didn’t id, made a group of microscopic fungus that I gathered in the bog. I showed them to Dr. Desjardin, which caused him to yell at me – “Stop bringing me fungus that I can’t see with my naked eyes!”.
