Observation 3538: Cortinarius verrucisporus Thiers & A.H. Sm.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found on the last day, across the street from the field campus. This species has evolved to not come above ground, but it stays underground. The cortina never opens on these, unless old and disturbed, even though the spores are dropped by the gills onto the closed veil.
