Observation 3669: Lepista nuda (Bull.) Cooke
When: 2005-09-19
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Widespread and common here in S.W. Ontario each Fall, Clitocybe nuda or Lepista nuda is an excellent edible and can be found in large prolific quantities each Fall. Fruiting in a variety of environments including leaf and needle duff, compost piles etc.
Commonly referred to as the Blewit, this tasty mushroom fills multiple baskets for me each year.

[admin] – Assigned this observation to Lepista nuda since the entered name ‘Lepista nuda/Clitocybe nuda’ confused the name parser. The older synonym of Clitocybe nuda can be seen by going to the corresponding name page and this observation will show up if you search for ‘Clitocybe nuda’.
