Collection location: Fort Bragg, California, USA [Click for map]
This one was found by another student in my mycology class, and brought in. I was told it was found in the Ft. Brag area in the past weekend, and found near fir trees.
Used Theirs’ Boletes of CA for the ID, based on the colors of the cap, the shaggyness, the bluing of the pores, and the partial bluing of the flesh. Also if found near fir trees, this makes the species.
