Observation 4167: Conocybe Fay.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found a small troop in a cultivated area which was watered the day before.

  • Pileus changes color depending on amount of moisture

  • Stipe hollow and fibrous, wider at base, with mycelial matt present

  • Gills free, creamy white turning tan as dark brown spores are released (overnight), and waxy looking, tan at outer edges

Went back to check the following week, to the day, after watering and more fruiting had occurred.
