Observation 4266: Scleroderma cepa Pers.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found several closely grouped at the edge of a lawn, in a garden bed.

Peridium is 2mm thick, seems to have turned slightly pink when cut. Outer surface yellow brown and finely crackled but not warty.

Gleba feels spongy but dry to the touch.

Large specimen is 7.5cm across and 5.5cm tall, not counting mycelial chunk at the bottom.

Smaller one is 6cm wide and 5cm tall.
